This 3-button remote will work with any of the garage door openers by Craftsman (Sears), LiftMaster or Chamberlain as long as the garage opener has the purple "Smart" button. One remote can control up to three doors, lights or security features and it is a good extra remote for my two-door garage. It was easy to program and has worked flawlessly since I purchased it about nine months ago.The LiftMaster 373W remote is the same as the 373LM, but the 373W has a burl walnut colores plastic case.

As the opener is a Sears product, I checked with them for a remote, & as they no longer make this particular one, I was told I'd have to order their universal remote at $80+ dollars. I elected to check online 1st & found this item. As one of our vehicles has buttons on the visor to program such electronics as the garage door opener, I needed the remote to be able to do that as well. I was relieved to find that the remote was easy to program to work the opener and thrilled that it also easily programmed to the car buttons.

This Liftmaster 61LM remote is the equivalent remote to the Sears Craftsman 139 model number listed above. It has dip switches inside the battery compartment that you match up with your existing remote to make it open your garage door. There is also a set of dip switches on the overhead opener itself if you no longer have a working remote. It should be easy to find on the garage door opener. This remote operates on a 390 MHZ Frequency, and works on models from 1984-1992 essentially. It has a set of 9 three position dip switches that you match up with your existing opener. A 12V battery and visor clip are included along with instructions. Also, the Sears Craftsman compatible wireless keypad is model number Liftmaster 66LM if you need to get a keypad.

(More customer reviews)First, I wanted to offer compliments to other reviewers that described the symptoms of the gears being bad - the "snow", the stop-and-starts, the stop working altogether but can still hear the motor running - nailed it exactly.Very clear to me after reading those that this was exactly the product I needed.It is exactly what it says it is - an OEM Liftmaster gear replacement assembly.The directions that come with it are excellent - step-by-step, and it explains exactly what you need to do.The directions are the best part of this product - if they were not so well done, it would be impossible.

No knock against the product, but installation was considerably more work than I expected.I had visions of undoing a couple of screws, popping out a gear, putting in the new ones, and being done - boy, I couldn't have been more wrong.The process can best be summarized as "take your garage door opener completely apart, removing all pieces, wires, etc.Around 30 to 50 screws, wires and pieces to remove.Replace gears.Re-assemble."Very important to ziplock and label all pieces and screws as you go, label the disconnected wires with masking tape so you keep everything straight.

With practically no re-work or mess-ups, it took me every bit of 4 hours for the fix.Was starting to wonder if this was the best way to spend my Saturday afternoon or if I just should have bought a whole new opener.....of course, would have had to install that too.That said though, the product works exactly as promised, and the directions are great.

Also kudos to Amazon seller "Sanford and Son" - I ordered it Monday night, was in in mailbox on Friday, in time for the weekend project.

(More customer reviews)This might be a good product in and of itself, but I wish the information on it had been more clear.I needed a second opener that would work with my existing unit, and thought I could program this remote to match what I have.However, the way this transmitter works is by reprogramming your system to fit itself.It cannot be calibrated to fit your system.So if you are looking for a single replacement remote and you have an orange programming light on your garage unit, this may work for you.But if you want a second or spare opener, look elsewhere.

Linear Garage Door Opener Safety Beam Set Review

(More customer reviews)Great original equipment parts. Arrived exactly as promised, a day earlier than I expected. I accidentially bumped and broke a send/receive unit. Linear makes it impossible to "jump" or otherwise get around replacing the safety beam unit. A local door repair guy wanted well over a hundred bucks to come out and do it. I removed the broken part, straitened the bracket, installed the new unit all in less than ten minutes. All the parts were there. I'm not mechanically inclined. I wish you could just buy one replacement beam, but no such luck. I'll save the other in case I get clumsy again. Don't be afraid, order it and do it yourself!

(More customer reviews)I found this to be a perfectly good replacement for my Sears Craftsman model #139.53778 garage door remote. It even came with a battery.

In addition to setting the dip switches on the remote, I had to invoke the "Learn" feature on my garage door opener for it to respond to the new remote. This is simple task, and the instructions are included.

Once you get it working, there isn't much left to critique.
