The Model MCT-11 1-Channel Visor Transmitter is a wireless radio control designed for use with automatic garage and gate operators.MegaCode transmitters and receivers do not contain a typical "coding switch". Each transmitter is permanently coded at the factory. The transmitter sends a unique code when the button is pressed. The receiver is programmed by learning a transmitter's unique digital code. The receiver will activate only from the memorized transmitters.The transmitter is powered by two Type 2032 coin-cell batteries. They should last 3 years with normal use. The red indicator on the face of the transmitter will glow when the unit is activated. If the indicator lights dimly, or not at all when transmitting, the batteries need to be replaced. To conserve battery life, an internal timer limits the transmission duration to 10 seconds if the transmitter button is held down.

The Liftmaster 970LM is compatible only with garage door openers with an orange learn button and SECURITY+ logo.If you have purple learn button, then buy the Liftmaster 370LM instead, which operates at 315Mhz instead of 390Mhz.

Mine works great.Comes with instruction, battery and velcro.Programming is easy, just press the orange learn button, release it quickly, then press the center button on the remote, release it quickly, see confirmation light flashes or hear click click sound near the learn button.That's it.(Don't hold the learn button for more than 6 seconds, as it will clear all codes and make your other remotes useless.)

I have a detached garage.It used to be a hassle to carry the remote with me everywhere I go.Now I can just add this to my keychain and never have to think about it anymore.I didn't want to put the original remote (visor clip on type) inside my pocket, because it's large and a littlepressure can push the button down accidentally which might close/open the garage door at unexpected time, causing injuries for my little baby running around.Now I have one hand free for holding my baby's hand or carring groceries.

I recommend just purchasing a "Clicker", a universal remote.I got it at a hardware store and it works perfectly!

(More customer reviews)During a recent electrical storm, a close lightning strike took out a few electronic devices in and around our home.One thing I noticed was that my Genie garage door opener was no longer functioning.The light would come on but the door would not go up or down.I checked the little LED lights, located on the Safe-T-Beam sensors by the garage door, and noticed that the red LED was blinking in a reoccurring pattern.I went to the Genie website and checked their support page.I was delighted to find a useful troubleshooting guide, which utilizes the LED lights on the Safe-T-Beam sensors to diagnose potential problems with your Genie garage door opener.This handy troubleshooting guide can be found here:

The guide helped me determine that my opener motor and electronics were OK but one or both of my Safe-T-Beam sensors were bad and needed to be replaced.I almost purchased the replacement kit from the Genie website but decided to check Amazon.com first.I'm glad I did, as I found the exact same kit at a much lower price.

The Genie 34094R Garage Door Opener Replacement Safe-T-Beam Kit is the same as the previous 35048R kit, and is the perfect replacement for every Genie garage door opener that utilizes the Safe-T-Beam sensors (all models manufactured from 1995 to current).This easy to install replacement kit includes the following items:

- Both Infrared eyes/sensors (one with Red LED and one with Green LED)
-Two Safe-T-Beam sensor mounting brackets
-Bell wire for connecting sensors to opener unit (approx. 100 ft. of wire included)
-Mounting hardware (screws, washers & nuts) for brackets and sensors
-Installation instructions

I did not need to replace the wire, as my previous wires were still in great shape.I found that I was not able to use my existing sensor mounting brackets, as the new Safe-T-Beam sensors had a slightly different mounting method.Luckily the 34094R kit comes with new mounting brackets (and everything else you would possibly need to install the new sensors).The installation instructions are very easy to read and understand, and provide several illustrations to help make the process simple.I had the new sensors installed in about 20 minutes and my Genie garage door opener was working perfectly once again.

The 34094R Safe-T-Beam replacement kit is a genuine Genie service item and contains everything needed to replace the Safe-T-Beam sensors on all Genie garage door openers manufacturer on or after 1995.It is easy to install and works flawlessly.The cost is very reasonable and I highly recommend this product to anyone with a Genie opener that needs one or both Safe-T-Beam sensors replaced.

Unfortunately, in spite of the glowing reviews from others on this product, I have to give my third to this utterly lacking Multi-Code single-channel micro transmitter. I needed a portable garage opener for a building that has a system that predates anyone who lives in the building now. Given its miniature size, this looked like a fine selection as it provides the necessary match to the increasingly rare ten-switch operation. In fact, I was excited that I received two of the remotes for the price.

I enthusiastically changed the switch positions to match the ten switches in the main component of the garage opening system. However, to my chagrin, neither remote worked with the system, even after I replaced the batteries included for ones I purchased at an electronics store. Luckily, I still have an old remote that works, but it is on the verge of disrepair. I could understand if one of the two remotes was inoperable due to manufacturing error, but for both to be inoperable, it shows me that there are non-disclosed limits to the compatibility of this remote to systems. Be forewarned that you will run this risk as well if you blindly purchase this product based solely on its ten-switch capability.
