The gear is only for 1984- current Chamberlain manufactured opener. Pre- 1984 is not manufactured anymore. The gear has 32 teeth, outside diameter of 2 3/4" and bore size of 1/2". If you do not lubricate each tooth of the new gear, the new gear can shred within days. If you need assistance in installing gear, please email Sanford and Son?.

Check the number of teeth it has. Then look at the seller's photos, not the description. A good photo is worth a thousand words! This is critical to weather you order the correct assembly.
